Sugar Free Hot Chocolate–With or Without Mint

This is literally a drink I drink every. Single. Day. Yeppers. It is my go-to power snack after I’ve finished my morning run, my mid-afternoon pick-me-up, and my bedtime comfort treat. It is so delish, it even has my husband singing its praises (and mind you, he was very, VERY reluctant to try it when I first offered him a drink.) So, the next time your lil’ munchkins or you get a hankerin’ for something sweet, rest assured that this amazing treat is packed pull of protein, calcium (if using cow’s milk), and zinc. Oooooh, it’s sooooo good! L’chaim!

Sugar Free Protein Packed Hot Cocoa


  • Organic milk or non-dairy milk alternative
  • 1 tsp Organic Cacao Powder
  • Organic Maple Syrup
  • Optional: Mint Tea and Mint Leaves

Heat milk or milk alternative on stove-top until warm but not boiling. If using mint, place the tea bag or mint leaves in the milk while it’s heating. Remove the mint leaves or tea bag once it’s done heating through. Stir in 1 tsp organic cacao powder. I like Navitas cacao powder. Click on this link to buy.

Add 1 TBSP organic maple syrup and stir into heated milk mix. Sip and enjoy! You may need to stir the drink occasionally to prevent the cacao from settling to the bottom of the cup:). L’chaim!
