I don’t know about you, but if you’re like me, you’ve been relishing the past few days as spring slowly wraps its arms around the northern hemisphere. New life, new growth, new beginnings. It feels so hopeful. So joyful. According to the Torah, we are told by God it is the beginning of our year (which makes sense since it’s when everything is coming back to life). It’s also filled with many of our special holidays such as Pesach (Passover), the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of Firstfruits.
It’s also that time of year when the earth begins awaking from its winter rest. Baby calves run and jump through the fields. Baby chicks flitter around their brooding boxes.
